Taking on Don Giovanni

Marcus Coleridge has been invited to join the MSSF Opera Ensemble in the title role of an abridged production of Don Giovanni, scheduled for August 2026.

This exciting opportunity marks a significant step in Marcus’s ongoing development as a performer, as he takes on one of opera’s most complex and demanding leading roles. Don Giovanni, composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is widely regarded as a cornerstone of the operatic repertoire, blending drama, comedy, and psychological depth in a way that continues to challenge and inspire performers.

Working alongside esteemed directors Andrew Smith, Ian Rutherford, and Pippa Dames Longworth, Marcus will be collaborating with an experienced creative team to bring this iconic character to life.

The role of Don Giovanni presents both vocal and dramatic challenges, requiring charisma, nuance, and emotional range. Marcus is particularly looking forward to exploring the character’s complexity—balancing charm and darkness—while deepening his understanding of Mozart’s musical language and operatic style.

Further details about the production, including performance dates and venue information, will be announced in due course.
