A new recital of English song and poetry will celebrate the enduring influence of Samuel Taylor Coleridge in the church where the poet is buried, performed by his fifth great-grandson, baritone Marcus Coleridge.
On he 21st of October, audiences will be invited to experience the world of Samuel Taylor Coleridge through a recital that brings together some of the finest works of the English song repertoire with readings from the poet's own writings. Rather than presenting a conventional literary tribute, the programme explores the extraordinary influence Coleridge exerted on the English literary landscape, tracing his legacy through music inspired by generations of poets who followed him, and how Coleridge changed our understanding of literature’s greatest figures.
